Nollywood actress Victoria Inyama has claimed that her colleague in the movie industry Uche Maduagwu, who recently came out as gay, is either seeking attention or battling a mental health issue.
The actress, who presently resides in the United Kingdom, doesn’t seem to believe that Uche is actually gay as he had said. She claims the whole idea might be caused by poverty or a way of the actor trying to garner publicity for his project.
Victoria was responding to the gay actor’s Instagram post. She said the post was caused by “poverty” and an “oblique allusion”.
In the Instagram post, Uche Maduagwu was outlining how he wants his Valentine to be, saying his date must be somebody who’s very rich and has a big “Cassava”.
This is how he put it: “My valentines date must be a billionaire man with big cassava being gay is happiness some movie producers refuse to work with me because I came out as gay in Nollywood.”
In reply, actress Inyama wrote: “You are clearly ridiculin the LGBG community and starting a brouhaha that will consume you…I can authoritatively say this is either your way of getting attention for your movie or you battling a mental health issue. This post right here is caused by POVERTY & an Oblique Allusion. This innuendo of lying about being gay is absolutely Wrong and insensitive.”
Since the Nollywood actor came out as gay, many have slammed him for his decision. But Uche appears not to care. In his recent defence on Instagram, he had this to say:
“Being #gay is an honor and a beautiful life #jesus never condemn gay people in the new testament so if you a good christian you won’t too or can a servant be greater than his master so criticize your G.O for having private jet when millions of his #church members are poor and unemployed, criticize them for collecting tithe during covid19.”
