Ndume States Position On Release Of Repentant Boko Haram Members
Recall that the lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume, had on Wednesday expressed disappointment in the decision of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to rehabilitate repentant Boko Haram members.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army stated this while speaking at the closed-door budget defense session with the Nigerian Army.
He said “I am in disagreement with the government,”
Ndume who has always spoken against the rehabilitation of Boko Haram members noted that it is wrong for Nigeria to be pampering repentant terrorists ‘while the country is still at war’.
He advised that Boko Haram members who are apprehended can be kept as prisoners of war, adding that in due time they can be profiled and tried in accordance with the law.
