Abia State University Demands N15,000 “Pandemic Prevention Fee” From Students

Following the resumption of the academic session after the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown, Abia State University has demanded that each student pays a sum of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000) each as ‘pandemic prevention fee” – this development has generated quite a huge buzz on social media.

In a memo signed by the institution’s registrar, Acho Elendu, which has now leaked online, all payments has to be paid through the school’s online payment system before the commencement of exam.

“All returning student are to pay a pandemic prevention fee of fifteen thousand (N15,000) Naira only.” it read.

They went further to say that they have to show evidence of payment before entry into the university campuses, and the general public are to take note.
